The Climate Question

Who should pay for the loss and damages that poor countries experience as a result of global climate change? Developing nations are demanding that rich countries address this issue at the upcoming COP climate talks in November. When extreme weather and rising seas swallow coastal communities or damage brights and other infrastructure, poor countries want a fund to help repair and compensate for a disaster they did little to create. I explore the issue in The Climate Question podcast on BBC World Service.

And, after the IEA recommended an immediate end to all new oil exploration if we are to meet our NetZero emissions targets, why is it still going on? That’s what we cover in the next episode (available from Monday).

And I’m back hosting BBC Inside Science again on BBC Radio 4 this month. You can listen to this week’s episode here.
