Looks good but I think the approach you’ve used so far – with pictures linked by text – is better for telling the story of the journey: it obviously gives you more scope than a relatively limited caption. I’d suggest using a combination of the occasional gallery, videos and photos with linking text. Hope that’s helpful!

Now, if you placed the captions right underneath the images, within the black frame, you’d have the best contrast for a speedier reading.
Unfortunately, I can’t jig the slideshow options much. Otherwise that would make sense.
