Buenos Aires: Eleven thousand, eight hundred kilometres and some impressive time travelling means that we have arrived in Buenos Aires half an hour before we left Sydney this morning. Not bad.
Time travelling is pretty exhausting, but we’re already enjoying the European architecture on Av de Mayo, the empanadas (a local type of Cornish pasty) and the street demonstrations that include singing and musicians in addition to the usual banners etc.
If we manage to stay up late enough, we might visit some tango. But now we’re off for a wander along the banks of Rio de la Plata, the world’s widest river (at it’s mouth), which separates Argentina from Uruguay.
Ah! Time machine… always I have desired this. If only we could construct for the Earth – for the tigers, for the gorillas, the koalas…
