Thanks, Gaia, media gives you little time, but I was glad to be reminded about your book. I will look for that…meanwhile, all that explanation was a great opportunity to focus the message on the rising “threats” of temperature, along with the floods and fires. (Montreal is very overcast today with smoke from fires, but British Columbia is much drier and hotter with more fires. A nine-year-old boy in B.C. with asthma died from overexposure to the smoke) Of course there have been deaths everywhere from the heat…200 refugees in Toronto finally got (temporary) shelter after sleeping on the street for weeks. It’s difficult for all levels of government to fund this sudden emergence of people made helpless by society not addressing these “predicted” outcomes. But the national violence also sweeping the planet is a result of climate pressures, and your numbers, as you stated, are very obvious in your book, these “Nomads” relentlessly increasing as heat and conflict boil up together.
